This is the third year I have attempted this shot of my kiddos around the Christmas tree. It isn’t perfect, but I love them. Our house is pretty small and last year I downsized to a smaller, skinnier Christmas tree. For these photos, I simply moved the tree in front of our french doors and pulled the living room rug back to try to get a little reflection from the floor. I used my Canon 6d, 50mm 1.8, and Hoya filter to achieve the star burst on the lights. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough room to get the top of the tree in the photo of both kiddos and I should have used my 35mm, but the Hoya filter was on back order for that lens and I was just too impatient to wait. LOL.
